Mindset & Turbo: Strategies for Educators
Do you understand what growth mindset and turbo are?

Would you like to have practical ways to apply these strategies to your work with students?
What I Wish I'd Known as a New Teacher
It's been two decades since my first year in the clasroom. I reflect on that time and wish I'd known a few things about myself, about teaching, and about my students. Some of what I wish I'd known could have been shared with me -- some I just had to live and learn from.
So I offer this reflection both for new teachers as well as for those who support them. And so if you work with a new teacher, I'm hoping you might stop by their room in the next few days and share some insights from your own experience. And if you are a new teacher, then I'm hoping these reflections might help you feel validated, hopeful, and resourceful....

**Ray Mills Fund**
Mr. Ray Mills served as a teacher, counselor, and Director of Guidance at Palatine High School for many years. In his tenure, he periodically helped the students who were unable to afford supplies for class projects and activities. It is the intent of the Ray Mills Committee to continue Mr. Mills’ practice, raising funds from staff, community members, former recipients, and fun-draising activities like the Chili Cook-off and Trivia Night. Representatives of the Ray Mills Committee work with representatives from the Academic Departments, Activities, and Sports Teams to review applications, and authorize the distribution of Ray Mills Grants.

Unfortunately, early exams are not allowed, but students who will miss the entire final exam week with authorized absences, must be given an alternate make-up exam date by their administrator. Further information on the NEW Final Exam MAKE-UP Procedures can be found here.
Academic Corner
